Empowering Competition through Automated Wholesale Infrastructure

The Partnership

Customer:  Nexia Bolivia (First Neutral Fiber Operator in Bolivia)

Integrator / Operations Partner: INET Bolivia (Nokia Distributor & Managed Services Provider)

Project Overview

Nexia Bolivia was established to transform the digital landscape of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. As a Neutral Fiber Network Operator, their mission is to provide high-speed broadband infrastructure that multiple retail service providers can utilize, preventing the need for costly and redundant infrastructure duplication.

The Challenge

Nexia required a robust, scalable platform to manage a complex wholesale environment:

  • Market Neutrality: A platform that treats all retail ISPs equally.
  • Operational Speed: Moving away from manual provisioning to instant service activation.
  • Security: Maintaining a hard boundary between the core network and third-party retailers.
  • Visibility: Real-time tracking of fiber builds and network health.

The Solution Architecture

The ecosystem leverages a “Best-of-Breed” technology stack to automate the entire lifecycle of a fiber connection.

Core Components:

Kuntur OSS

A cloud-native platform managing fulfillment, geospatial inventory, and NOC operations, allowing ISPs (VNOs) like Viva and Cotas onboard and manage their customers.

 Wholesale Network Portal (WNP)

Wholesale API and WebUI for service fulfillment and service assurance of Nokia Altiplano Open Access solution.

Nokia Altiplano

The SDN (Software Defined Networking) “brain” that orchestrates the fiber hardware.

Nokia OLT/ONTs

High-capacity fiber access hardware for end-user connectivity.

Sytex & Jira

Tools used to track physical construction and field installation workflows.
